This Just In

Derange Gunman Opens Fire On Shooting Range. Or in other news someone involved in an open-carry shooting is revealed to have "additional artillery" of 6 guns and 1300 rounds of ammo in his home. Sadly the second story is not from the Onion.

From the Brady article (just to put the "6 guns and 1300 rounds of ammo" comment in perspective):

And on May 9, Gonzalez [ the person with the additional artillery ] took his zeal for open carry to its most lethal extreme. In what police are suggesting was a confrontation over a parking space, Gonzalez shot and killed tribal dancer and singer Danny John, as he was sitting in his car. John’s nephew, Jered Corn, was paralyzed from the chest down by a bullet blast (one of seven Gonzalez fired at both men) through his neck. Gonzalez faces a first-degree intentional homicide charge for the death of John, age 29, and an attempted first-degree intentional homicide charge for shooting Corn, age 21.

Somehow I bet that the Brady Center neglected to mention that Corn and John were ejected from a bar down the street for being drunk and disorderly.

Not that I think Gonzalez is somehow a saint. He may not even be justified in his use of force. But the idea that 6 guns and 1300 rounds of ammo is a lot is BS.

Hell, I have more than 1300 rounds on my closet shelf, and that's only there because all my ammo cans are pretty full at the moment.

It sure is BS. It's everyday life for a lot of law-abiding people.
