TNIV Translation

For those who haven't noticed, Mark Roberts is getting into the meat of issues with the TNIV translation. Some of his background articles contrast multiple translations to illustrate the choices translaters have to make.

Now he is going into detail on the "them vs. he" issue. TNIV uses "them" as a gender neutral pronoun instead of the more literal "he". Except that this makes the english text less individual and personal than the greek. It is an important theological point to consider.

Its a good read, but may take some time.

UPDATE: John at Locusts and Honey has a hilarious take on the debate. His humor jives well with me, but it might be a little much for some people.
